1. Norman Osborn

Movies: Spider-Man, Spider-Man: No Way Home

"“Here’s the real truth. There are eight million people in this city. And those teeming masses exist for the sole purpose of lifting the few exceptional people onto their shoulders. You, me? We’re exceptional.”-Norman Osborn"

Just like the comic books, no one tormented Peter Parker’s life more than Norman Osborn. What he did in Spider-Man was epic. Throughout the film, the Green Goblin made Spidey’s life difficult in ways no one has. It goes beyond just physically beating Peter (which he did). He scared Aunt May so badly that she ended up in the hospital. Then, in No Way Home, he murders the MCU’s Aunt May and almost kills two different Peter Parkers. He was everything a fan could want from an antagonist.

When looking up Norman Osborn quotes, it’s difficult finding the perfect one because they were all great. The creative team gave Osborn a plethora of iconic lines. Each one helped make the Green Goblin and Norman iconic and truly sold him as being evil. As great as these lines were, they needed the right actor to pull them off. Thankfully, the correct performer was cast.

Willem Dafoe put on a flawless performance. The scene where he switches from weak Norman to crazy Goblin in the mirror is the perfect example of this. His voice, walk, and attitude completely changed on the fly. This isn’t something any performer can do. Yet Willem Dafoe made it look easy.
