11. The Green Goblin

Movie: Amazing Spider-Man 2

"“Oh, come on. Think bigger, Max. I’m not the one you want. You want Spider-Man and I can give him to you.”-Harry Osborn"

Without searching the answer online, let’s see if you can answer these two questions. Other than killing Gwen Stacy, what did Harry Osborn’s Green Goblin accomplish? Did he do anything else that was memorable? Not much other than being a bad version of a character that fans wanted Andrew Garfield to battle.

Did fans want the Green Goblin? Absolutely. He’s one of the best villains in the history of comics. The way he torments Spider-Man is iconic. However, fans wanted Norman Osborn’s Green Goblin. Harry’s version of this shouldn’t have been the way to go. He was unforgettable in the comics and the same could be said here. Yet, this is what fans received. A Green Goblin who looked more like a sick person than an actual goblin.

The only reason that Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborn made it above Sandman is because he did kill Gwen Stacy. No matter what happened before or after, he’ll always have that. Plus, he caused a lot of chaos after recruiting Max Dillon (Electro). Granted, this writer doesn’t remember the scene where it happened, but it doesn’t matter. The end result was the same. He used Electro to get what he wanted. Even if he failed, this is a moment that Spidey fans won’t forget.
