7. Electro

Movie: Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man: No Way Home

"“You wanted to be the hero. And now you gotta pay the price!”-Max Dillon"

Jamie Foxx is one of the most talented people in Hollywood. He’s a fantastic singer with classic songs, a hilarious comedian, and an award-winning actor. Which made it weird that he wasn’t used properly in Amazing Spider-Man 2. Instead of giving Foxx the kind of role that could compliment Andrew Garfield, they gave Foxx an Electro unfit for his skills.

Jamie Foxx’s Electro should have been closer to his character in Marvel Comics. Max Dillon is aware of how powerful he is. Maybe too aware. This is how Electro was portrayed in No Way Home. Sure of himself and his powers, and very arrogant. Jamie Foxx pulled this off perfectly. Imagine if this was the Electro viewers saw the first time around. It may have changed the course of the MCU, Sony, and Marvel Comics. Instead, Max Dillon was an insecure follower obsessed with Spider-Man and had an awful haircut.

We’re grateful Jamie Foxx got second a chance to redo his previous role. It was exciting hearing that he was going to be Electro. That thrill was killed when he was on screen. He was too good to portray that bad of a character. His redemption in No Way Home shows that.
