There will be another live-action Street Fighter project coming and these five things are needed to make it successful.

Street Fighter has produced two live-action movies. Both were failures. The first had issues with everything from the casting to the story. What’s sad is that Raul Julia put on a heck of a performance as Bison.

Meanwhile, Jean-Claude Van Damme was the exact opposite. He was more of a parody of a character than anything else. It’s become one of the many action movies that are watched because they’re so bad it’s comical. Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li was just bad. That’s all that needs to be said about that.

The Hollywood Reporter announced that a live-action Street Fighter movie is in the works and may have found its directors. Australian brothers Danny and Michael Philippou (Talk to Me) may have been tapped to direct the video game adaptation. Hopefully, they can continue the trend of good video game projects that Super Maria Bros and The Last of Us started.

Unfortunately, it’s going to take more than just great directors to make this a good movie. Fans may get to a point where they believe it’s not possible to adapt Street Fighter into a live-action movie. Especially when the animated movies are so well done. In order for this to be successful, here are some things that are a must.
