Batwoman‘s third season was easily the best outing that the Arrowverse series produced and one of the reasons for that was its main plot, which saw the rise of a second generation of Batman’s greatest villains. One of those villains was Killer Croc.

While the original Killer Croc, Waylon Jones, did exist retroactively in the Arrowverse, Batwoman introduced us to a new one. A teenager named Steven turns into “Killer Croc 2.0” after coming into contact with one of Jones’ teeth, which spread the infection to him.

Actor Heidi Ben portrays the transformed Croc version of Steven and to say it’s an imposing portrayal would be an understatement. Towering over everyone he encountered, Croc battled Javicia Leslie’s Scarlet Knight in the tunnels of Gotham City in what was undoubtedly one of the show’s most unnerving episodes.

The character didn’t exactly have a personality (as Steven had just become a raging reptilian monster) and that’s certainly a drawback, but there is no denying the conviction of Ben’s performance and the incredible look crafted for him by Batwoman‘s effects and make-up department. He was, without question, terrifying.
