2 and 3. Steve Blum and Khary Payton

Few things from any Batman universe are as terrifying as hearing the Killer Croc growl the words “I will find you”, but that’s what video game players were treated to (or subjected to) in Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Croc was one of the select villains to appear in all of the Arkham games, and for good reason – because he was so darn memorable. His appearance was the stuff that nightmares are made of. Monstrously large, he sported green scales all over his body, razor sharp claws, small beady reptilian eyes and terrifyingly long (and, again, sharp) teeth. The fact that he still had the shackles and collar from his imprisonment around his neck really completed the look. He was a loose animal that needed to be avoided at all costs.

Steve Blum did an exceptional job of bringing the role to life with his performances across Batman: Arkham AsylumArkham City, and Arkham Knight. His growl was chilling and whenever you heard it in the sewers underneath Arkham, you couldn’t help but get goosebumps. And this is an effect that Khary Payton managed to recreate incredibly well when he voiced a younger version of the same Croc in Batman: Arkham Origins.

This was easily Croc’s most terrifying look, but the voice needed to live up to that. Blum and Payton nailed it, ensuring that we got a Croc that single-handedly defined the character for a whole generation.
