Ryan Gosling

At 42 years old, Ryan Gosling would be a perfect, mature Booster Gold. The hero after years of going over the top, dealing with tragedy, and then having to fight for people to see him as someone beyond who he once was. And at the same time, he has the blonde hair that works for the role and he has a presence on screen that we could easily see as both a showboat and a man dealing with tragedy.

We have seen him in similar roles thanks to The Notebook and even Murder by Numbers. In The Notebook, we see a man who has been to war and is a legit hero, weighed down by what he has seen, but who was once a more open and maybe even a bit wild individual. He showcased the more mature side of our hero in this role. Then we have his Murder by Numbers role. In that one, he was the bad guy, but he also showcased how one can have dual personalities of a hero (although he was far from one).

And don’t even get me started on his role in Remember the Titans! There he was a showboat. He was the embodiment of the early Booster Gold trying to make a name for himself. And at the same time, he was vibrant and a scene-stealer.

For this hero, we want an actor who can be a scene-stealer. And Ryan Gosling is absolutely that type of actor. He is the type of guy who is hard to ignore and even harder to forget.

He might just be the perfect choice for this role (at least in my mind).
