8. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

  • Release Date: June 30, 2023
  • Director: James Mangold
  • Cast: Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theaters on June 30, 2023. Harrison Ford is back as Indiana Jones one last time. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the fifth and final Indiana Jones movie. Unfortunately, Stephen Speilberg, who directed the first four Indiana Jones movies, is not directing this one. James Mangold takes over as director.

In the movie, which is set in the late 1960s against the backdrop of the Cold War and Space Race, Indiana Jones is accompanied by Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) on a new adventure. I don’t know about you, but I’m guessing they’ll be looking for whatever the “Dial of Destiny” is. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Obviously, it’s quite bittersweet that this is the end of the road for Ford as Indiana Jones. It’s one of the most iconic action-adventure characters of all time. It will be interesting how the franchise continues. I don’t think Disney is going to give up on this IP just because Ford is leaving.
