2. Samara Weaving

Ready or not, here comes Samara Weaving as the perfect Black Canary. Fans of the Australian actress have been eagerly waiting for her to take on a superhero role and what better role than as a screaming superhero?

The talented actress has already shown her ability to handle physical roles with ease. Look no further than her breakthrough performance in the horror-comedy Ready or Not. Her range as an actress would bring a fresh take to the character and her ability to scream in terror could easily translate to the Canary Cry.

With her background in horror films and her talent for action, Weaving is destined for a comic book role, and Black Canary would be a perfect fit. She’s proven herself to be a versatile actress, and her role as a lead in the upcoming G.I. Joe spinoff, Snake Eyes, proves that she can hold her own in a big-budget action film.

While Jurnee Smollett will always be the definitive Black Canary, a fresh start with Samara Weaving as the hero would be an exciting prospect for fans. The potential for Weaving to bring new energy and take on the character would be a welcome addition to the DC universe. Here’s hoping that James Gunn and Peter Safran consider Weaving for the role if they decide to go in a different direction with the character.
