When it comes to an anime series as battle-heavy as Demon Slayer, it is nearly impossible to not have the desire to see how some of your favorite characters fare against each other.

Be it for personal amusement or for the sake of predicting whose strength will aid or hinder their lives when the stakes are higher than ever, power rank systems are beneficial in every way possible. Plus, in the world of Demon Slayer, where the good guys can be defeated at any given moment, we want to brace for impact when things may look grim for those we adore. There’s no better way to get prepared than by ranking the Hashira from weakest to strongest!

Demon Slayer’s weakest to strongest Hashira

Needless to say, we don’t want to spoil the amazing battles to come, so we’re only including the Hashira we have seen in action in the anime series (and record-breaking film). But there’s no need to worry because, sooner or later, you’ll see all nine Hashira in this list. Until then, here are our thoughts on the Hashira members so far!

6. Shinobu Kocho (The Insect Hashira)

While we don’t necessarily think Shinobu Kocho is physically weak by any means, we do believe that she is currently positioned at the bottom of the totem pole compared to her fellow Hashira members.

Our belief stems from the fact that we have yet to see her true display of power to the fullest extent. Rather, we’ve only seen how she performs when it comes to dealing with enemies far weaker than Upper-Rank demons.

Her battle against one of the members of the Spider Family did showcase her insect breathing in that it’s a quick and deadly ability. However, we’re not sure how this would fare against stronger demons who can shut her abilities out altogether.

Also, in some cases, we often observe Shinobu in a more passive role, such as running her rehabilitation center for injured demon slayers or teasing her fellow Hashira, Giyuu. And in speaking of Giyuu, compared to this Water Hashira, Shinobu’s strength is muted, as she was easily captured and forced into a headlock by Giyuu.

Even so, it is equally important to note that Shinobu outwitted Giyuu with her well-placed blade in her shoe, showing that where she may lack in physical strength, she makes up for it in mental fortitude and wisdom.

We’re bound to see even more of Shinobu in the future, meaning there’s a high chance she could rank up. Don’t count her out just yet!

What The Insect Hashira Needs to Work On: Since we know Shinobu can outwit anyone with her mental strength, we would like to see her as confident in her physical power, especially because her insect abilities may not always be feasible in her battles against stronger enemies.
