7. Moira Queen

To this day, Moira Queen remains one of the Arrowverse’s most formidable characters, so it was rather fitting that she looked death in the face and didn’t blink. Why? Well, because, in spite of her flaws, this woman was willing to do anything for her children, including laying down her own life – which is exactly what the Queen matriarch did.

Moira wasn’t perfect. She was a very flawed character who had done some very bad things throughout her life, but in the end, she did the right thing and managed to redeem herself in a huge way – staging one of the best comebacks in Arrowverse history when she won the people over with her honesty following her stint in Iron Heights prison and was even elected mayor of Starling City.

That’s what made her death so heartbreaking. Moira had finally made up for her actions and showed everyone that her heart was in the right place and, as anyone who knew her would tell you, she would have been a force-to-be-reckoned with as the city’s mayor.

But her premature death didn’t just rob the city of its new mayor or Arrow of one of it strongest characters. It robbed Oliver and Thea of their mother and, considering they had lost so much already, they certainly didn’t deserve that – and neither did Moira.
