Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) will die in Amazing Spider-Man No. 26 but don’t worry. She’ll be back.

The recent run of Amazing Spider-Man has caused a lot of turmoil and anger in the comic book community. Fans don’t like what has been happening with Spider-Man, Peter Parker, or Mary Jane Watson. Now, more news about the series was released.

According to Marvel.com, Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, will die in Amazing Spider-Man No. 26.

"“As an Oscorp intern, Kamala Khan has been a pivotal supporting character in Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.’s run of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, and it’s all been leading to this monumental moment for Kamala to save the entire Marvel Universe!” – Marvel"

Kamala Khan has been working for Norman Osborn since the beginning of Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.’s run of Amazing Spider-Man. And, according to Marvel, Kamala Khan will give her life so the Marvel Universe can live on. In some of the interior photos (posted at Marvel.com), it appears that the villain chasing MJ and Peter in the past issues is what causes Kamala’s death.

Kamala’s death will devastate the entire superhero community. Marvel Comics fans will see how much this July in Fallen Friend: The Death of Ms. Marvel. In that issue, Ms. Marvel’s original writer G. Willow Wilson will be joined by Mark Waid (Star Wars: Princess Leia) and Saladin Ahmed (Miles Morales Spider-Man) to show how her passing affects her family, friends, and teammates.

Ms. Marvel will likely return soon

If you go on social media, fans are furious at everyone involved with the Amazing Spider-Man comic book series (this writer suggests not digging too deep). This news has made it worse. But you shouldn’t worry too much, because in all likelihood, Ms. Marvel will be back at some point.

Unless you’re Gwen Stacy, no one stays dead in comic books. Captain America, Batman, Jean Grey, and more have made a triumphant return from the grave. In fact, Spider-Man died and came back two issues later (read Spider-Man: The Other: Evolve or Die for more on that). Further proof of this is that Kamala will be starring in live-action movie The Marvels later this year. It wouldn’t be shocking if she comes back within a month of the movie’s release. Why kill off such an important character right around her cinematic debut?

It’s awful when a character you love is gone. I’m a Wolverine fan. Old Man Logan stepped in, but it wasn’t the same. Kamala Khan is a new character and the closest thing to a pure hero since Superman. Her death is regrettable, but her return will be worth it. Especially when she probably shows up and saves the day.
