7. Superman & Lois

Superman & Lois is an amazing show that breathes new life into the beloved superhero character. With its compelling storytelling, strong character development, and refreshing take on the Man of Steel, the show has captivated viewers from the very first episode.

One of the standout aspects of Superman & Lois is its emphasis on family dynamics. The show beautifully explores the challenges faced by Clark Kent and Lois Lane as they navigate the complexities of parenthood while also fulfilling their superhero duties. Through this grounded and relatable approach, the show is able to add a layer that past iterations centering around the character were not able to achieve.

The performances in Superman & Lois are top-notch. Tyler Hoechlin’s portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman is charismatic, vulnerable, and inspiring, capturing the essence of the iconic character. He’s everything we could have hoped for in the character and his performance has cemented his legacy among the best to ever play Superman on the big or small screen. Then there is Elizabeth Tulloch who shines as Lois Lane, bringing intelligence, strength, and compassion to the role. The chemistry between Hoechlin and Tulloch is magnetic, creating a believable and compelling dynamic between the characters who are the heart of the show.

Visually, the series is stunning, with impressive special effects and action sequences that showcase Superman’s superhuman abilities and hold up against the top superhero projects in the genre. The cinematography and production design create a rich and immersive world that is a joy to watch.

In all honesty, Superman & Lois deserves to be ranked higher on this list; however, it’s hard to justify ranking it over the other Arrowverse shows that were set within the shared universe given how the show has made every effort possible to set itself apart from the Arrowverse. For that reason alone, the show lands the No. 7 spot on this list but make no mistake that is not a reflection on the show itself.
