Titans and Doom Patrol

The DC Universe era is almost at an end. We don’t mean the new DC shared universe from DC Studios, we mean the DC Universe streaming service, as almost all of the original programming it produced throughout its lifespan has ended. And unfortunately, Titans and Doom Patrol are among the casualties as both shows, now on HBO Max, have been cancelled.

Titans completed its fourth season just recently, but if you didn’t already know, it won’t be back for a fifth season. Doom Patrol has yet to air the remaining six episodes from its fourth season, but it also won’t return for a season 5. The decision was made to end both shows earlier this year as DC Studios prepares to launch James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe, that will feature new DC movies and shows all taking place in one shared universe.

Titans and Doom Patrol were the DC Universe’s first two original TV shows, so to see them go is a tragedy, especially as fans loved them so much. But Titans‘ recent conclusion showed that the writers were prepared for the decision, so here’s hoping the creative team of Doom Patrol also treated their season 4 finale as a series finale.
