John Wick: Chapter 2 premiered on Netflix in 2017, three years after the super-successful first movie of the franchise. Things only get more twisted for John Wich in John Wick: Chapter 2.
After avenging the killing of his new dog in the first movie, John Wick is ready to hang up the holster and put a stop to the mad life that is being an assassin. Instead, he’s pulled back into the fray after a former colleague asks John Wick to fulfill a promise that he made years ago. John Wick fulfills that promise, which opens up a whole can of worms for our favorite assassin.
Overall, John Wick: Chapter 2 ups the action from the first movie and delivers a better story. John Wick had a singular mission in the first movie. It was simple compared to the story, which is so much more layered in the second movie. And now, the very organization he helped create and maintain the status quo is out to get him. This story is so much deeper than I thought they were going to go with this franchise, and it gets even better and better as it goes on.
