2. Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives!

Get ready for the resurrection of terror in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. The masked madman from Crystal Lake has returned and is more powerful, unstoppable, and brutal than ever before. To put it bluntly, he’s REALLY mad.

Part VI takes a new approach, injecting a healthy dose of humor into the franchise. Using self-aware and tongue-in-cheek antics, it’s incredibly self-aware and never takes itself too seriously. Tom McLoughlin has taken the reigns and is embracing the campiness and delivering a film that’s both parts horror and comedy. While it is quite a funny installment, it may also be one of the bloodiest ones. One death is so gruesome that we only see the aftermath and even then the walls are literally painted red.

This installment doesn’t shy away from poking fun at its own tropes and cliches. Characters breaking the fourth wall nods to classic horror films and even a paintball game that went horribly wrong. It’s a refreshing take that injects levity into the bloodshed, creating a memorable time for horror fans everywhere.

As good as this film is and as much fun as you can have watching it, it doesn’t hold a candle to the number one film on this list…
