Are you missing Yuji, Satoro, and the rest of your favorite Jujutsu Kaisen characters? Well, rev up those supernatural engines, because the gang will be back for season 2! The Shonen Jump hit anime from the stellar studio MAPPA has had us all on tenterhooks since it first danced onto the scene in 2020. Let’s face it, if you’re reading this, you’re as hooked as a cursed spirit on a bad day.

After an agonizing two-year hiatus, the hotly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 is coming at us like a possessed schoolboy. And yes, we’re aware that season 2 of any anime can either be a power-up or a self-destruct button (oh, The Promised Neverland, how you’ve scarred us). But with the hefty manga source material lined up for adaptation, we don’t foresee JJ ending up as cursed as that doomed anime.

Got that adrenaline rush yet? Here’s everything you need to know about the return of your favorite curse-fighting crew – the release date, expected episode count, and the juicy bits from the latest trailer!

Save the Date: Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is coming!

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 release date

Pack your bags, we’re headed for a supernatural adventure this summer! Yes, you heard that right, Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 is confirmed to drop on Thursday, July 6, 2023, in Japan. This bombshell announcement made waves at the end of last year, with a brand-new trailer hitting screens in March confirming the exact release date.

If you’re reading this from outside Japan, don’t panic! While the international release date is yet to be confirmed, our friends at Crunchyroll (who aired season 1 and the movie) are likely to have our backs and stream season 2 pronto. Fingers crossed!

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 trailer

Have you seen the latest trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen season 2? If not, what are you waiting for? Debuting at the AnimeJapan expo in March 2023, this teaser promises more curse-clobbering action, mystic revelations, and all the Gojo you can handle.

What is Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 about?

The teaser trailers hint at some delicious narrative nuggets in the upcoming season. We’re talking deep dives into Satoru Gojo’s backstory, courtesy of the Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu Arc (or Gojo’s Past Arc). Prepare for a time warp to 2006 when our beloved Gojo was a sophomore at Tokyo Jujutsu High.

The second season isn’t holding back on the high stakes either. It’s also bringing to life the gargantuan Shibuya Incident Arc, where we’ll witness a daring plan to seal away Goto. Yes, you got it, this is the longest arc in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, and it’s coming to your screens!

How many episodes can we expect in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will run continuously for half a year, with two cours, and no breaks (yes, you can start your happy dance). An exact episode count is yet to be confirmed, but the half-year run suggests a similar number to season 1.

Translation: potentially another 24 episodes of curse-busting goodness!

Where can you watch Jujutsu Kaisen?

While the official streaming platform for season 2 outside of Japan hasn’t been confirmed, Crunchyroll is the likely suspect. They’re the ones who brought us the first season and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, so it’s a safe bet they’ll be our ticket to season 2.

If you’re new to this curse-laden world, you can catch the first three episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen for free (though with ads) on Crunchyroll. Just head to the Jujutsu Kaisen Crunchyroll page and take your pick.

July is almost here! It’s time to mark your calendars, rev up your anticipation, and get ready for a season packed full of dark fantasy, gripping storylines, and unforgettable characters. Yuji, Satoro, and the rest of the crew are back, and we couldn’t be more excited. Bring on the cursed spirits and let’s get this cursed party started!
