Bill Skarsgård

Bill Skarsgård knows a thing or two about playing a villainous clown. The talented young actor is perhaps best known for playing Pennywise in It and It Chapter Two which are, of course, based on Stephen King’s iconic novel. The Dancing Clown is without question one of cinema’s most terrifying villains and that was all down to Skarsgård’s unnerving performance. He was eerily charming and yet completely and utterly frightening.

Skarsgård is one of his generation’s greatest actors. He can reel you in with his intense performances, making you root for him (or against him) in a heartbeat. Like Hiddleston, he has an aura around him that makes you want to watch him as he performs. That is the kind of seductive and alluring performance that an actor playing The Joker would need to give. And as we’ve seen from Skarsgård’s past performances, he’d be more than capable of doing that.

It and Joker share some other history outside of being led by clowns, with both landing on the list of highest-grossing R-rated movies of all time (with the latter being in the No. 1 spot). That could be just one of the many signs as to why Bill Skarsgård would make a great Clown Prince of Crime.
