Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse directors and writers

Both trios also wrote and directed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
How does the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ending sets up Beyond the Spider-Verse?
SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE
There is a massive cliffhanger in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and it’s pretty much the perfect ending. I don’t want to get too into it right now. It’s still very fresh, and there’s a lot to break down for how Across the Spider-Verse sets up beyond the Spider-Verse, but here are the big notes and things to know.
At the end of Across the Spider-Verse, Miles finds himself on Earth-42 instead of Earth-1610 after he escapes the Spider Society and uses their machine to try to return home.
There are several big reveals in the last half of the movie, including the reveal that Miles was bitten by a spider from Earth-42, so he is actually the reason all of this stuff has been happening because he’s an anomaly, which isn’t allowed by the Spider Society. So, that’s a problem.
But, the bigger problem is that Miles is on Earth-42. Miles on Earth-42 is not Spider-Man; he is the Prowler, which sets up a whole problem in Beyond the Spider-Verse.
So, that’s what the movie will be about: Miles returning home, potentially saving his dad’s life, and Gwen and the rest of the Spideys loyal to Miles rescuing him and stopping the Spot.
Is Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse the last movie?
Unfortunately, it’s starting to look like Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be the final movie, completing the animated trilogy.
At the time of publishing, Sony has not announced another Spider-Man movie, so it looks like the Spider-Man: Spider-Verse movies will end with Beyond the Spider-Verse in 2024, but there’s a lot more from Sony on the way soon.
We still have one movie to go, but if Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is as good as the first two movies, there’s no doubt this will be considered the best Spider-Man trilogy of all time and one of the best three-movie runs out of all the Marvel movies we’ve seen so far.
A Gwen Stacy and Spider-Woman movie is in the works
Spider-Man producer Ari Avad teased a Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman movie, and it’s coming soon, according to Variety. Right now, we don’t know any of the other details, but it appears it will be set in this world and will hopefully have a similar look and feel as the Spider-Verse movies.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be on Netflix after its theatrical run
Shortly after it hits theaters, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be available to stream on Netflix. The movie is produced and distributed by Sony, which has an output deal with Netflix. All the new Sony movies released after 2022 are added to Netflix about four to six months after they’re released in theaters.
That means Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix soon!
When is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely be released on Netflix sometime in the fall. According to our friends at Netflix Life, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on Netflix in October 2023, at the earliest. It will likely be released sometime between October and December 2023.
That’s what we know about Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse so far! We’ll share more about the movie when we find out.
