Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem showcases more of the Ninja Turtles’ personalities and unveils Ice Cube’s Superfly.

If there’s one person you can trust with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, it’s Seth Rogan. His track record with comic book projects is almost flawless. The Boys and Invincible are perfect examples of what he can do.

However, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem isn’t like the previously named Seth Rogan projects. While the movie hasn’t been rated yet, it appears to be geared towards kids. Although, whether it’s rated PG or PG-13, the new Mutant Mayhem trailer looks fantastic.

The first trailer for the movie took the opportunity to introduce the Ninja Turtles, hear their new voices, and display their personalities. The next trailer (that you can see below) does that again, but in length. Beyond seeing it, Splinter breaks down what made each of them special. Michelangelo has heart and Donatello has wisdom. Raphael’s biggest attribute is his bravery and Leonardo has his honor. The core fans already know this about the Ninja Turtles, it’s still good to mention.

The second trailer had to do more than show the four mutant brothers. It needed to add new footage of the movie. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have a following, but Mutant Mayhem will need more than just the normal fans to win the summer. Thankfully, the second trailer did that by giving people more of a reason to see it in theaters. Fans could finally see what the villain and his goons looked like.

The Ninja Turtles are going up against a mutant named Superfly (not to be confused with Baxter Stockman’s mutation). He’s a crime boss that no one’s ever seen because it’s rumored that he kills everyone who sees his face. This puts the brothers at a disadvantage. They’ll be fighting a villain that’s never been seen, let alone stopped. It’s a great test for their first trip out.

It may be disappointing that Shredder isn’t the big boss in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, but it’s the right move. It builds anticipation for the potential second project. He could be hinted at in Mutant Mayhem. Plus, the Turtles beating Shredder on their first big mission isn’t believable. Allowing them to get a win under their belt before showing them fight Oroku Saki and the Foot Clan is smart.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem should be on the list of everyone who enjoys action movies, animated projects, or both. This looks like a fun movie with a lot of heart. Hopefully this will be the movie to bring popularity back to the Ninja Turtles. And, like this writer has said before, Seth Rogan is absolutely a name you can trust when it comes to nerdy projects. That alone is enough for this writer to get on board. Thankfully, the two traiers helped prove this point.
