Who would have thought the Spider-Man sequel would be better than the original, but that’s exactly what happened. Spider-Man 2 is so good. It’s one of Raimi’s best movies, and Tobey Maguire was never better as Spider-Man.

One thing that’s special about Spider-Man 2  is the excellent writing and storytelling. The film follows Peter’s struggle to balance his personal life and responsibilities as Spider-Man. MJ and Harry are no longer part of Peter’s life, and it’s a big struggle for the trio. Harry is also dealing with the ramifications of his father’s death, and his new mission is stopping Spider-Man for good. Little does he know that Spider-Man used to be his best friend.

The best part of Spider-Man 2 is its villain, Doctor Octopus, played by Alfred Molina, who delivers a standout performance. He’s one of the best Spider-Man villains we’ve seen to date, and it’s going to be hard for another performance to top it as the Spider-Man movies continue. It was so great to see Molina reprise his role in No Way Home.
