24. Ben Turner

I have been a fan of Michael Jai White, who plays Ben Turner, for years. And when he turned up on Arrow, I was excited. Even as he started things off as someone we might consider to be a bad guy (okay there is no way not to say this, he was absolutely a villain), it didn’t take long before we saw a future where he could (and would) be redeemed.

Not only did he end up as a member of the Suicide Squad because of his actions and the people he took up with during his life of crime, but over time he proved that he had a moral compass of his own. After saving Layla’s life, we finally had a chance to watch as Ben turned his life around.

Ben Turner’s ultimate redemption came when he actually partnered with Oliver to take down the villainous Ricardo Diaz. He also partnered with our hero to stop Emiko, Oliver’s sister, from attacking Star City.

When it comes to well-developed characters, Ben Turner is definitely one who has a great story and character arc. At the same time, there are moments in his journey that we never see because they happen off the screen.

Perhaps the reason Ben is not higher on this list is that there are simply more characters in this series who have made an even bigger impact over all.
