5 actors we want to see play Robin in The Batman 2
Timothée Chalamet
27-year-old actor Timothée Chalamet became a household name with his Academy Award-nominated performance as Elio in Call Me by Your Name. There’s absolutely no doubt that he’s talented enough to bring any role to life, as he’s continued his career with a mix of indie films and blockbusters. Some of his most popular movies to date include Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird and Little Women, Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All, and of course, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune.
Chalamet will reprise his role as Paul Atreides in the highly anticipated Dune sequel later this year, and after that will play an iconic character we all know in the upcoming Wonka. Throughout his career so far, Chalamet has proved he’s extremely versatile and is up for any challenge. He could bring humor and heart to Robin, but also a dark side that would fit well with the tone of The Batman 2.
Caleb McLaughlin
You might only know him from Stranger Things, but Caleb McLaughlin is one to watch. The Lucas Sinclair actor, 21, has been acting since he was a child, appearing on Broadway in a production of The Lion King. He then garnered a sizable fanbase with his role in the Netflix sci-fi series, where he continues to shine. He’s set to reprise his role as Lucas in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. But what’s next for McLaughlin after that?
Though many Marvel fans have wanted the actor to portray a live-action version of Miles Morales — which would be outstanding — he’d also be an awesome Robin. And why can’t he do both, depending on the timelines of production?
We’ve seen in Stranger Things that McLaughlin can play a silly, innocent character, but he’s also not a stranger to dangerous action scenes. In the fourth season specifically, we really saw his acting chops come out in a more dramatic role, especially in the season finale.
