7. Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast offers a stunning visual experience that brings to life the beloved tale of Belle and the Beast which truly is a tale as old as time.

In the lead role of Belle, Emma Watson delivers a scene-stealing performance as the intelligent and kind heroine who sees beyond the Beast’s monstrous exterior. While the look of the Beast divided audiences, Dan Stevens’ performance most certainly did not as he brings so much depth and emotion to the role.

Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson shine in their roles, bringing their unique charm to the characters fans first fell in love with in the original tale — even if their character designs left something to be desired.

The film’s soundtrack is the true highlight, featuring both classic and new songs that capture the magic and romance of the story. The iconic “Tale as Old as Time” is beautifully reimagined, while new songs like “Evermore” showcase the Beast’s emotional journey and add to the film’s uniqueness. Emma Watson’s singing voice may not be as powerful as some of the other cast members, but her rendition of “Belle” is charming and fitting for the character.

While the design choices for some of the characters divided audiences, the film’s attention to detail in its production design and costumes is impeccable. From the stunning ballroom scene to Belle’s iconic yellow dress, every aspect of the film’s visual style is a feast for the eyes and will want you to pull up a chair and join Belle as a guest on the journey.

The film is a loving tribute to the original animated classic while adding new elements and deeper character development that will appeal to both longtime fans and new audiences alike.
