Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse may not have made the money most Spidey movies make, but it was still well received – so much so that it won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film in 2019.
Its sequel, Across the Spider-Verse, triumphing at the theaters showed that people discovered Into the Spider-Verse after it left theaters. It helped that the sequel was even better than the first. Among the improvements are the visuals (it’s the best looking movie of the year), it’s more emotional than the previous movie, and the action was top notch. However, the character development was the best part.
The characters got better as the movie progressed and it didn’t feel rushed either. It wasn’t just from one movie to the next. They improved as Across the Spider-Verse went on, Miles Morales in particular. He went from someone who blindly jumped into action and became a hero with a plan. It was great to see him grow into becoming an amazing Spider-Man.
