Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) take on The Spot (Jason Schwartzman) in Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation’s SPIDER-MAN™: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE.

5. Spot

"“I made you into a hero, you made me into this.” – Spot"

The spot wasn’t a villain that anyone expected to be anything more than a joke. However, if you’re a Marvel Comics fan like this writer, you know otherwise. There have been moments when Spot showed potential (just ask Daredevil). Unfortunately, the commercials for Across the Spider-Verse didn’t make him seem appealing. He looked like someone Spider-Man would fight once and move on from. It appeared this way at the beginning of the movie as well.

When Miles first met Spot, he didn’t take him seriously. He wouldn’t even put his beef patty down while they fought. Spider-Man went as far as to call him the villain of the week. That was before Spot discovered his potential. He found out that his powers could help him move throughout the multiverse. As he became more powerful, he began to see how the future would play out. He became more than “the villain of the week.” The movie ends with him being a threat to the entire multiverse.

Spot transformed into the most dangerous villain in any comic book movie. He could send Thanos Dormammu, Zod, and any other incredibly strong villain to another reality with a thought. All of this is because Miles didn’t take him seriously. Next time he’ll put the food down.
