Is Christian Bale in The Flash?
The Flash features many surprising cameos, but is The Dark Knight star Christian Bale reprising his role as Batman for the movie?
The Flash is gearing up to be one of the most talked-about movies of the year. The movie has been in-the-works for close to 10 years as Warner Bros. attempted to launch their DC Extended Universe but missteps with previous movies, changes in the direction and development hell prevented it from ever coming to fruition. Now, it’s finally here.
A necessary piece in the resetting of the DCEU as the DC Universe, the movie finally sees Ezra Miller’s Scarlet Speedster break his way into the solo movie territory (and break the multiverse right along with him). Based on the DC storyline Flashpoint, it showcases the hero’s attempt to go back in time and save his mother, only to completely break the universe.
The multiversal adventure promised many surprises, particularly that of Michael Keaton’s returning Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. But does it feature a nod to Christian Bale’s Batman from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy?
Does Christian Bale cameo in The Flash?
If you’re hoping to see Christian Bale in The Flash, we’re sad to say that you’ll be disappointed. While the movie does feature a nod or two to some legendary DC actors in the form of cameo appearances, Bale’s Batman does not appear.
It’s disappointing, but it’s not surprising. Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy was known for its grounded realism, so any elements from it likely wouldn’t have worked in the world of The Flash. That said, it would have been nice to see a brief reference to the franchise given how beloved Bale’s version of the character was.
The primary version of Batman to appear in The Flash is Michael Keaton’s, as the veteran Dark Knight from Tim Burton’s movies comes out of retirement to help Flash and Supergirl stop Zod.
