Is Grant Gustin in The Flash movie 2023?
The Flash movie has finally made its way to movie theaters but is the star of the TV series, Grant Gustin, in the film?
After nearly a decade, The Flash movie has made its presence felt on the big screen. It’s been a long time coming, and not just because the DCEU film has been in development for so long, as it is the first time that DC Comics’ iconic Scarlet Speedster headlines his own movie.
The movie, set in the same continuity as previous DCEU movies, brings back Ezra Miller as the Fastest Man Alive, as he reprises his roles from previous movies such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. It also features a number of familiar faces, with Easter Eggs and references to many classic DC properties.
Speaking of classic DC properties, Barry Allen has been a household name long before his silver screen showdown came to be, and that’s all down to Grant Gustin’s incredible performance as the Scarlet Speedster in all nine seasons of The Flash TV series on The CW.
But will he be in the movie?

Does Grant Gustin cameo in The Flash movie?
If you’re hoping to see Grant Gustin reprise his role as the Scarlet Speedster in a cameo appearance in The Flash movie, you’ll be disappointed to know that he doesn’t appear in the movie.
While Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen creates some multiverse madness, leading to some surprising cameos, Gustin’s Flash is not one of the characters to appear.
Gustin himself confirmed this in an interview with TVLine ahead of the CW series’ final episode, but fans were hoping that he might have been taking a page out of Andrew Garfield’s book and being a pro at keeping secrets. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the case, as the Arrowverse star didn’t appear in the movie.
Fans who have already seen the movie are understandably very upset because it does come off as a little disrespectful to Gustin and John Wesley Shipp, who both played the character in separate TV shows, but it just didn’t happen.
Is The Flash TV series referenced in the movie?
You might have spotted that CGI cameo of Jay Garrick, the first Crimson Comet in DC Comics. While it was initially believed to be modeled after Teddy Sears, who played a fake version of Jay on The Flash TV series (but was actually Zoom in disguise), TVLine have since confirmed that this was not the case and that it was simply a generic representation of the Golden Age Flash.
It would have been pretty odd to include Sears’ Garrick given that he wasn’t really playing Jay, the fact that John Wesley Shipp portrayed the real Jay Garrick on that show, and that Gustin himself – the lead of that show – wasn’t included.
The Flash is currently playing in movie theaters.
