The Flash age rating: Is the DC movie suitable for kids?
The Flash movie is hitting theaters this weekend, but is it suitable for children? Here’s what you can expect from it.
The DC movie that felt like it was never going to hit movie theaters has finally arrived on big screens around the world. Yes, DC fans, it’s time for The Flash to speed into your hearts (if the TV series hasn’t already) and take you on an adventure that only the Scarlet Speedster could.
The film will see Ezra Miller reprise their role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Justice League, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, bringing Barry Allen back for an adventure that will upset the multiverse and reset the DC Universe.
From the introduction of a new Supergirl to the return of a classic Batman, there is a lot to see in The Flash. If you’re planning on seeing it this weekend with the family and would like to know if it’s suitable for kids, here’s what you need to know about the DCEU movie’s age rating.
The Flash age rating
The Flash has an age rating of PG-13. This is generally the rating that the MPAA gives to most superhero movies, but the DC film has received this rating for “sequences of violence and action, some strong language, and partial nudity”.
If you’ve seen the trailers, you’ll know that The Flash is like most modern day superhero movies in that its generally light, but with some darker, more mature sequences when it comes to the battles. So if you’re familiar with previous DC movies, then you probably already know what to expect.
Nobody knows your kids better than you do, so you’ll know what they like and what they don’t. If you’re in doubt, it might be best to see it first yourself so that you can make that decision.
The Flash arrives in movie theaters on Friday, June 16 2023.
