X-Men: Orchis makes their move using Iron Man’s armor

It’s the X-Men, Avengers, and other heroes against Orchis during the 2023 Hellfire Gala! This event officially starts the summer event, the Fall of X.

The X-Men Hellfire Gala is the Krakoan event of the year. Mutants, celebrities, and heroes alike join the party to show off their best outfits, mingle, and see what the mutants of Krakoa are up to. Despite the joyous festivities, there’s always drama.

When members of the X-Men terraformed Mars and claimed it as their own, people on Earth were scared. The following year, the Resurrection Protocols were exposed. Justified or not, this gave people of the world more of a reason to be terrified of mutants.

According to the trailer below, Orchis will use that fear to their advantage and attack the 2023 Hellfire Gala.

Orchis has been making calculated moves before the Dawn of X began. Creating a Mother Mold by the sun to make sentinels was the first big move. They’ve also poisoned the Krakoan drugs used to help humans, acquired the services of M.O.D.O.K. and a clone of Nathaniel Essex, and framed mutants for terrorism. Recently, they’ve used Tony Stark’s Iron Man designs to create tougher Sentinels. Those Sentinels made a dry run in X-Men No. 23 and almost won the fight. During the 2023 Hellfire Gala, Orchis and their Iron Man Sentinels will officially attack the X-Men’s home in New York and the Gala itself.

There are a lot of constants in Marvel Comics. The X-Men never having peace is one of them. If they’re happy, then something horrible is coming. In this case, the Fall of X is the result of the happiness during the Dawn of X. As of now, it’s unclear if this is the end of Krakoa. The Fall of X could mean that something bad but not permanent will happen. For example, the Resurrection Protocols could be abolished or the Quiet Council may disband and be reformed democratically. For now, it’s the waiting game.

The X-Men: Hellfire Gala is scheduled to be released on July 26, 2023. After that, X-Books like Uncanny X-Men, Uncanny Spider-Man, and more will debut. These titles will catalog some of the next moves for Marvel’s Mightiest Mutants. Whatever it is, it won’t be an easy road.
