2. Reservoir Dogs

Reservoir Dogs was released in 1992 and has since become a crime movie classic. Even now, three decades later, it still holds up as one of the best films ever made. It follows a group of criminals who come together to pull off a diamond heist. Given code names by their boss, they go by different colors like Mr. Pink and Mr. White.

The heist falls apart pretty quickly, which leads to death, torture, and more surprising moments. Like the other films on this list, Tarantino uses nonlinear storytelling to show us what happens, which is super effective.

The cast of Reservoir Dogs includes some of the best actors of our time, like Steve Buscemi, Tim Roth, and Harvey Keitel. Michael Madsen also gives a stellar performance as Mr. Blonde. The movie from front to finish is memorable, with some of the highlights being the “Stuck in the Middle with You” ear-cutting scene and the Mexican standoff. It’s fantastic all around.

Now let’s get into Tarantino’s best movie.

1. Pulp Fiction

This should come as no surprise, but Tarantino’s best movie is without a doubt Pulp Fiction. Widely regarded as one of the most influential films of the ’90s, it’s just an absolute masterpiece and one of my favorite movies of all time.

Pulp Fiction was released in 1994 and stars Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, and Ving Rhames. Another gripping story told in a nonlinear format, the movie follows two hitmen who work for a mob boss named Marsellus Wallace.

Some of the best scenes include Vincent and Mia’s date at Jack Rabbit Slim’s, Honey Bunny and Pumpkin’s diner robbery, and Mia’s overdose. Even if you haven’t seen the movie, you’re likely familiar with some of its moments or one-liners.

Pulp Fiction is groundbreaking for many reasons, including its innovative storytelling, blended genres, and the way it subverts expectations. It’s a pop culture phenomenon that will continue to be talked about for decades to come.
