10. Jake Johnson

Comic book character: Jon (Sex Criminals)

Jake Johnson is one of this writer’s favorite actors. His role on New Girl as Nick Miller is iconic. It could be the role where he became popular. He was amazing as Peter B. Parker in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and he’s currently incredible as Doug in Minx on HBO Max. All of those roles make him the right pick to play Jon in Sex Criminals.

Jon has major insecurities, an obsession with pornography, and a big heart. He’s also good for a joke at the inopportune time. All of this screams Nick Miller and Doug. Whether Sex Criminals becomes a live-action or animated show, Jake Johnson should be involved. This writer can’t think of an actor better suited.

9. Emily Hampshire

Comic book character: Suzie (Sex Criminals)

Emily Hampshire was part of what made Schitt’s Creek a historically great show. Unfortunately, the other leads were so good that she may have gotten outshined. However, if you really watched the show, you noticed how crucial her character (Stevie) was to the show’s success. A great example was her performance of “Maybe this time.”

Emily Hampshire is an underrated actress who would flawlessly play Suzie in Sex Criminals. While playing Suzie, she’d get the chance to star in a project that would show off all of her talents. She has to be strong, vulnerable, assertive, sometimes indecisive, and so much more. It would also be nice to see her taking charge in a role that could show a different side of comic book projects. She would also pair perfectly with Jake Johnson’s Jon.
