With the recent news surrounding the box office of The Flash the future of the DCEU is not looking bright and now Gal Gadot has all but confirmed her exit as Wonder Woman.

It has been the year of cameos for Gal Gadot as she has appeared as Wonder Woman twice in the latest two films for the DC Universe. However, it appears her recent cameo in The Flash may mark the end of her run as the Amazonian hero.

Wonder Woman 3 was reportedly canceled earlier this year by James Gunn ahead of the newly planned DCU we will be getting. Although the third film in what would have been a trilogy has been canceled Gunn was coy about Gadot’s future in his new universe.

Gal Gaot recently sat down in an interview with Total Film magazine to discuss her future and candidly spoke out about what her next plans are.

"“To me, starting and developing stories that I’m passionate about is an incredible thing. The fact that I don’t have to sit still at home and just wait for the next offer is something that makes me feel empowered. I enjoy doing it, it keeps me alive.”"

She went on further to explain, “I’m not only going to do my own projects, I’m going to work as an actress-for-hire still.”

While Gadot did not outright come out and say that she was officially done donning the sword and Lasso, she strongly seems to have hinted as such. Of course, there is always an open door that if Gunn and Safran would have her on then there’s a chance she could be part of plans still moving forward.

We know for sure that Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck are both for sure out and that the rest remains in the air. Gadot has been part of franchises such as the DCEU and Fast and Furious so perhaps her comments hint towards taking on smaller projects. All we can do is speculate and hope that SDCC brings about some fun announcements in a month!
