Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will have multiple Spider-Gwens

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse bringing in multiple versions of Gwen Stacy is a perfect addition to the Spider-Verse trilogy.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was even better than its predecessor. In this writer’s opinion, it was the best Spider-Man movie of all time. Having multiple Spider-Beings and giving them all different looks and animations helped make it a nearly flawless movie. Among those Spider-Beings was the amazing Gwen Stacy, a.k.a. Spider-Woman.

However, there was only one Spider-Gwen. There were multiple versions of Peter Parker, the Prowler, and other Spider-Man villains. But only one Gwen Stacy. Considering she helped carry the movie by being a multi-layered character, it was shocking that she was the only version of the character. In an infinite Spider-Verse, she couldn’t be the only one.

However, as reported by ComicBookMovie, multiple versions of Gwen Stacy will appear in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. And now, everything makes sense.

Multiple versions of Gwen Stacy confirmed for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse

Sony’s second Spider-Verse movie gave viewers even more Spider-Beings. The logical response would be to go bigger. What’s grander than hundreds of Spider-Men, a Spider-Cat, and a Spider-Dinosaur? Something they haven’t seen in a movie and fans haven’t seen more than one Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Verse movie.

If you’re a Marvel Comics fan, then you may have already seen how deep the rabbit hole goes. Or, in this case, how big the Web of Life and Destiny is. In the five-part mini-series Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse, Marvel Comics introduced different versions of Gwen that weren’t attached to the Spider-Verse. There are versions where she’s the God of Thunder, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Wolverine, and more. Since this is the Spider-Verse, and those characters are attached to different totems, Gwen Stacy’s variant may be spider related. Although, it would be cool to see things like Gwen swinging Mjolnir or popping her claws.

As of now, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is scheduled to be released on June 2, 2023.  We’ll have to wait until then to see what versions Sony gives us. Thankfully, there’s no way Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be disappointing.
