4. Supernatural season 5

In the pulsating world of Supernatural, surprises are as regular as the Winchesters’ encounters with the paranormal. However, few twists sent as many shockwaves through the fandom as the unexpected extension of the series beyond its fifth season. Originally, many fans had anticipated that this would be the series finale, primarily because it marked the end of Eric Kripke’s tenure as showrunner. This was a significant turning point in the Supernatural saga, signaling the closure of Kripke’s original story arc for the show.

The fifth season of Supernatural took fans on an exhilarating ride, replete with celestial drama and heart-wrenching dilemmas. The Winchesters, fresh from releasing Lucifer from his cage at the climax of the fourth season, found themselves in a desperate scramble to prevent his reign of terror. The stakes couldn’t have been higher, as destiny ordained Sam to become Lucifer’s vessel and Dean to serve as the corporeal host for the angel Michael.

Resisting their predestined roles with every fiber of their being, the brothers Winchester saw their world unravel in ways they never imagined. Their half-brother unwittingly becomes Michael’s vessel, while Sam makes the ultimate sacrifice, offering himself to Lucifer in a gambit to imprison the fallen angel once more within his cage. An undulating wave of emotion, fraught with danger, and saturated with sacrifice, season 5 encapsulated the essence of Supernatural‘s charm, and it served as a thrilling conclusion to the show’s five-year storyline.

Many believe the show should have ended here, and it’s hard to argue with that.
