7. Iris West

Well what a delight it was to finally see Kiersey Clemons play Iris West. Granted, we did see her in that brief scene in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but here, she got a chance to be more like the determined reporter that we know she’s destined to become.

She had a much smaller role than fans had hoped, which makes it hard to compare it to the legendary WestAllen we saw in The Flash TV series, but Clemons’ endearing performance ensured we were all left hoping to see more of Iris West.

6. Henry Allen

If you’re familiar with The Flash lore, you’ll know that Barry’s loving (and innocent) father Henry Allen plays a huge role in the Scarlet Speedster’s story – and that doesn’t change in The Flash.

Wrongly convicted of killing his wife Nora, Henry is one of the two driving forces behind Barry’s decision to go back in time (the other being to save his mother) as he hopes to alter the timeline so that his dad would never be imprisoned. Ron Livingston does a great job taking over from Billy Crudup in the role, and his heartwarming scenes with Ezra Miller’s Barry also made us wish he was a bigger part of them movie.

5. Nora Allen

Barry’s loving mother Nora was, in many ways, the heart and soul of The Flash. Not only was the desire to save her Barry’s driving force behind altering the timeline, she was an incredible mother and an amazing human being who didn’t deserve what happened to her. And we saw that play out through some incredibly endearing scenes between her and Barry.

From the lovely moment in which she danced in the kitchen to that heartbreaking farewell between her and Barry at the end of the movie, you couldn’t help but get attached to this wonderful woman and root for her survival. Oh, what an incredible performance from Maribel Verdú.
