1. Scarlet Witch

Cam, we know you’re obsessed with Scarlet Witch. Stop putting her as number one on every list you make.

No.

And this scene is exactly why:

I’ve talked about Scarlet Witch being the number one villain in the MCU, but the same reasons why she is the number one villain also make her the most powerful Avenger.

In Civil War, we are introduced to Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, as a member of the Avengers. Her powers are showcased during the battle scenes, demonstrating her ability to manipulate reality, create energy blasts, and project force fields.

In Infinity War, Wanda’s powers are further explored, revealing the extent of her strength. She is shown to possess immense telekinetic and telepathic abilities, as well as the power to alter reality. During the film, she is very unfortunately tasked with destroying the Mind Stone, which is embedded in Vision’s head. Despite her personal struggles, Wanda manages to hold off Thanos, the primary antagonist, while in tears and single-handedly for a significant amount of time while simultaneously attempting to destroy the Mind Stone. This woman is literally everything. But that ain’t it.

In Endgame, Wanda confronts Thanos once again. This time, Thanos brings his forces, including heavy artillery, to stop Wanda from overpowering him. Despite the overwhelming odds, Wanda puts up a formidable fight and poses a significant threat to Thanos, who calls for the cannons on his ship to fire so he could get away from her.

And let’s not forget that in WandaVision, Wanda unconsciously taps into her chaos magic while in deep sorrow, creating a powerful force field known as “The Hex” over the town of Westview. This force field warps reality, transforming the town into various sitcom eras from different decades. Wanda recreates the world within The Hex, complete with its own inhabitants who are under her control.

Wanda exhibits precise control over her powers, manipulating and altering the fabric of reality itself. She can change the environment, rewind time, and even resurrect the dead and create life within her area of effect. The series showcases the depth and complexity of Wanda’s powers, highlighting her ability to reshape the world according to her desires.

And finally, by the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda’s powers had escalated to such levels that she could potentially destroy herself. From mind-controlling an entire town to taking on an army of sorcerers, Wanda’s strength is unparalleled. She stood her ground against Thanos and came perilously close to defeating him single-handedly. She was also the only one who could stop herself, and so she did.

As you can see, it’s not favoritism. Throughout the MCU, Wanda Maximoff’s character undergoes development, and her powers evolve and grow. Her portrayal demonstrates her as the most powerful individual in the Avengers roster. Though, I do also love her to pieces.

Do you agree? Who’s the strongest Avenger in your opinion?

You can relive the thrilling adventures of the MCU’s heroes on Disney Plus.
