Keep Sasha Calle

Okay, let’s finish out with the obvious one, shall we? The DC Universe already has a Supergirl, why replace her when she’s so darn good in the role?

There was a lot of excitement heading into The Flash and one of the main reasons for that was to meet Sasha Calle’s version of Supergirl. That excitement paid off because Calle delivered a performance worthy of her iconic character, while also leaving us wanting more. A lot more.

Yes, the truth is that the Girl of Steel remains one of the biggest areas of untapped potential in The Flash. Both versions of The Flash, and Michael Keaton’s returning Batman, all had significant character journeys and moments in the film to shine. While Calle’s Supergirl had some of that, too, it felt like the DCEU was only scratching the surface of what the character was truly capable of.

Sasha Calle was a scene-stealer as Supergirl in a very short amount of time. Could you imagine what she would be capable of with a whole movie? Not only would it be great to get to spend more time with this version of the hero, it would be awesome to see her tackle the role in a movie like Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (especially if it’s inspired by its source material).

Yes, it’s understandable that the DC Universe is clearing out much of what didn’t work in the DCEU, but Supergirl wasn’t one of those elements that failed. We saw the beginnings of greatness in Calle’s Girl of Steel, and now we want to see what she’s truly made of.
