After the death of Bruce Wayne (Batman), chasing and being chased by the Court of Owls, and betrayal from family members, the Gotham Knights are ready to clear their names in the show’s season finale. Normally, this writer would have an idea of what’s going to happen next. Unfortunately, he’s got nothing. The show’s cancellation makes it almost impossible to know what’s going to happen.
If the creative team knew the show may not last, an alternate ending could have been filmed. This way the series might not end with a cliffhanger. If they didn’t, Gotham Knights could conclude without tying things up. That could leave the future of Two-Face, Duela, and others up in the air. Sadly, this happens all the time and it will happen again.
This writer hopes that another streaming platform will pick this series up, but it isn’t likely. The show didn’t seem to be popular and not having Batman doesn’t help. When it involves Gotham City, the Dark Knight is the draw. It’s a shame because Gotham Knights has potential.
There are a plethora of villains Gotham’s vigilantes could have faced. Among them is Stephanie Brown’s father, Cluemaster. That could have been an entertaining season and it looked like this is where the second season could have been going. Too bad it won’t happen. All that’s left is the series finale.
