4. The Kingpin

Wilson Fisk may be more associated with Daredevil than Spider-Man but, hey, he’s such a good villain that he has proven to be a nuisance for both heroes.

Wilson is a normal guy with a lot of discipline. He came from a poor family and taught himself everything necessary to control the criminal underworld. As opposed to popular belief, Wilson is pretty muscular. He spent years building a strong physique that would give him the upper hand in any combat. That, combined with his incredible intellect, allowed him to become the kingpin of crime and lead many henchmen to fulfill any plan to take over the city.

Kingpin has been a major threat to Spider-Man for a long time. Aunt May was even shot by a sniper hired by Wilson Fisk to kill Spidey. This event puts Peter down a dark path where he commits many crimes and almost murders the mob boss himself in a brutal beatdown. Peter became what he fought against for many years, and it was all thanks to the Kingpin.

The Ultimate Spider-Man comic book run also had Wilson be a major player and one of the first villains that iteration of Spider-Man ever fought. They both crossed paths multiple times, and each one of them featured a pretty epic showdown. Finally, Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 started with Peter finally taking down the Kingpin after years of trying to do so. However, the wall-crawler rapidly realized that Wilson was a necessary evil who kept New York under control. After just a couple of weeks without Wilson, the city was in worse shape than when he was looking over it, and that just goes to show how much influence the Kingpin has.
