2. Hated Demon Slayer characters: Douma
Douma hasn’t been on our screens as long as other Upper-Rank demons, but whenever we do see him, we’re filled with nothing but discontent because this demon is problematic in ways that are hard to imagine. Anime-only fans will learn soon enough the extent of his woman-hating ways, but for those who already know about his foul perception toward women, his placing on this list may not come as too much of a surprise.
When we peered into the backstory of the late Gyutaro, we got a glimpse of Douma casually walking in with a dead woman’s leg draped on his shoulder. His vulgarity was extremely off-putting in the few seconds we met him and has left a sour taste since then. (You know what they say about first impressions!) If that weren’t bad enough, even Douma’s leader, Muzan, can’t stand his nature, as Douma’s way of life always puts himself first.
He’s somehow a hindrance to both humans and demons, leaving you to wonder how boundless his selfish is. And if you think he’s bad now, just wait until you see a little more of him in the next couple of seasons. He’s sure to make you want nothing but the most excruciating demise for him from either Tanjiro or someone else extremely formidable.
What would make us hate Douma less? Douma’s such a thorn in everyone’s side, we think he would be a tad more tolerable if he wasn’t such a selfish, self-aggrandizing, woman-hater who never fails to make our heads hurt. Even if he remained human, there are some annoying aspects about him that are embedded in his personality and definitely need some purging, so his being a demon isn’t an excuse.
All around, he should undergo a complete and total transformation of his entire being. Maybe then, Douma have a chance to gain our favor.
