5. Chrissy Cunningham
Chrissy wake up, I don’t like this. Those are the words that will forever be engraved in our minds when thinking about Chrissy Cunningham and her heartbreaking death in season 4 at the hands of Vecna.
Although we hadn’t gotten the chance to know Chrissy quite as much as we’d have liked to, she quickly stole fans’ hearts during her time on the show with her death serving as a major catalyst for the events of season 4. Not only was Chrissy’s death heartbreaking, but it was portrayed in such a gruesome way that sent chills through fans’ spines.
Oh and let’s not forget about Eddie’s reaction to witnessing the horrors of watching her die. Eddie’s reaction alone broke our hears into a million pieces and had us watching the events unfold through tear-soaked eyes.
4. Barbara Holland
Barb’s death in Stranger Things remains etched in the minds of fans as a tragic and haunting moment. In Season 1, Barb Holland, Nancy Wheeler’s loyal and nerdy best friend, met her untimely demise in the Upside Down in what would be the first of many shocking and unexpected deaths.
Her disappearance initially went unnoticed by most which was part of what made it so heartbreaking and when the truth was eventually revealed, we were completely gutted. Barb’s demise made it clear that no one would be safe in the show.
Despite her limited screen time, Barb’s relatable nature and genuine friendship resonated deeply with audiences, turning her into an unexpected fan favorite. Her death sparked a relentless pursuit for justice and fueled the determination of Nancy and her friends to uncover the truth. Barb’s memory continues to endure.
