9 major Stranger Things deaths ranked from least to most heartbreaking
By Cody Schultz
3. Bob Newby
Bob Newby’s death in season 2 left viewers shattered and their hearts heavy with grief. Played brilliantly by Sean Astin, Bob was a lovable character who won our affection with his kind-hearted nature and unwavering support for Joyce Byers and her children. Honestly, in retrospect, these should have been warning signs as the show loves nothing more than to introduce lovable characters only to kill them.
When Bob met his tragic demise at the hands of the Demodogs, it was a gut-wrenching moment that struck a deep emotional chord. The show beautifully depicted his heroism as he bravely faced his fears to save those he cared for. Bob’s death was a reminder of the harsh reality of the Upside Down and the sacrifices made in the battle against the supernatural. The loss of Bob is one we’re still trying to get over and aren’t sure if we ever will.
2. Alexi
Alexi’s demise in season 3 was an excruciating blow that left us overwhelmed with sorrow. With his infectious enthusiasm and lovable quirks, Alexi captured the hearts of fans in an instant making him a breakout fan favorite.
In a heartbreaking twist, Alexi’s life was abruptly cut short by a bullet from a ruthless Russian assassin. The sheer innocence and vulnerability that radiated from him as he gasped for his last breath were emotionally devastating. Literally, we were in a puddle of our tears trying to process the tragedy that had unfolded before our eyes. It was a tragic reminder of the harsh reality that even the most beloved characters are not spared by the Duffer brothers.
The loss of Alexi left a void in the hearts of viewers, as his presence brought joy and warmth to the screen. Stranger Things once again showcased its ability to break fans’ hearts, leaving us mourning the loss of yet another beloved character.
