Love in the time of chaos: Marvel’s Loki and Scarlet Witch lock lips in new comic teaser hinting at a romance brewing between the iconic characters.

Ah, the never-ending possibilities of comics! With DC and Marvel ramping up the audacity in their 2023 offerings, it seems we’re in for more eyebrow-raising plot twists.

We love a good plot twist in our comic books, and that is particularly clear from everything going on at Marvel these days, from Beast’s actions involving Wolverine and the unexpected death of Ms. Marvel. Well, Marvel has another fun adventure planned for us, and I am all aboard the hype train for this one.

The God of Mischief, Loki, and the chaos-wielding Scarlet Witch are potentially hooking up. In a recent announcement, Marvel Comics hinted at a brewing romance between the two with a tantalizing new comic cover. The cover for Scarlet Witch No. 8, masterfully created by Russell Dauterman, teases us with an image of the pair on the verge of a passionate kiss.

Does all this signal the start of a romantic rollercoaster for Wanda Maximoff and Loki in fall 2023? While both characters have had their share of romantic entanglements in the comics, a Loki-Scarlet Witch combo is uncharted territory and has the potential to be… well, catastrophic for others. Loki is the embodiment of mischief and trickery, and Scarlet Witch is known for her universe-shaking, often destructive, magical prowess. If they do give romance a try, they could ignite a supernova of chaos and power that the Marvel universe has yet to witness.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Marvel’s tagline God vs. Witch! could suggest a battle rather than a budding romance. Could it be a frenemy situation, a romantic tango filled with thrilling clashes and flirtatious exchanges? Perhaps Wanda’s mission is twofold: to keep the God of Mischief in check, while also grappling with her feelings for him?

For answers, we must wait until September 8, when Scarlet Witch No. 8 hits the comic book stores. Until then, we can enjoy the speculative thrill ride. Remember, in the Marvel universe, even the most unlikely scenarios can manifest.
