Superman and Lois season 3 has been a staple of Tuesday nights for The CW, but will the DC show air a new episode this week?

Last week’s episode of Superman and Lois was easily one of the most jaw-dropping moments in The CW history, as it saw the Man of Steel square off against one of his greatest enemies in a battle the likes of which normally isn’t seen on television.

Needless to say, audiences were stunned by it, with the episode, titled “What Kills You Only Makes You Stronger” (season 3 episode 13), receiving rave reviews from fans and critics. It proved that Superman and Lois deserved its place on The CW and that cliffhanger ending has left us all excited (and kind of terrified) for what’s next.

Speaking of what’s next, can Arrowverse and DC TV fans expect a new episode of Superman and Lois to air on TV screens tonight?

Is Superman and Lois new tonight, July 4?

If you’re expecting a new episode of Superman and Lois season 3 to air tonight, we’re sad to report that won’t be the case. While the show is a regular of the Tuesday night timeslot on the schedule (and has been since it premiered in 2021), it won’t be airing a new episode this week as last week’s installment was the season 3 finale.

Yes, unfortunately, that means that Superman and Lois will be off-screens for sometime as production has yet to commence on season 4. Thankfully, though, season 4 is in development, as The CW has renewed it – making it one of the lucky few to get another season at the network.

When could Superman and Lois return to The CW for season 4?

Superman and Lois season 4 is expected to debut on The CW sometime in 2024. The show will be a part of The CW’s schedule next season, but it won’t air in the fall as the network has already announced its fall line-up as part of its new direction under new owners Nexstar. The fall schedule will mostly consist of acquisitions and the returning All American.

With that in mind, the three other returning CW original shows Walker, All American: Homecoming, and Superman and Lois will all likely return in the spring/summer schedule. Exact dates have yet to be confirmed as production has not yet begun, and with the WGA Writers Strike continuing, it might be some time until it does.
