Previously, on Disney Plus‘ Secret Invasion, Nick Fury was still dealing with the death of Maria Hill. She was one of the last people in the world that Fury could trust, and he watched her die. Even worse, everyone else blames him for her death and the chaos caused by Gravik and his Skrull team, including James Rhodes. He already knows about the Skrulls and is refusing to help Fury out.

Now, Fury has to try and regain his balance and stop the Skrulls. Unfortunately, his friend Talos dropped a bombshell on him in episode 2. Millions of Skrulls have been living among humans for decades.

Pardon the phrase, but Nick was furious when Talos told him. He couldn’t believe someone he trusted kept that a secret from him. To make matters worse, the Skrulls aren’t just on Earth. They’ve infiltrated the world governments and possibly Nick Fury’s personal life.

Episode 2 of Secret Invasion showed some of Gravik’s backstory. Viewers learn that Gravik was upset with Nick Fury for not keeping his promise. He pledged to find the Skrulls a new home and failed to do so. Now, he and the rest of the rebel Skrulls are claiming Earth as their own. Gravik being named general of the Skrull invasion means things are going to get worse. However, G’iah doesn’t seem to be on his side. That should come into play soon.

Hopefully, episode 3 will show more of the past. Especially regarding Nick Fury’s personal life. Did Fury knowingly marry a Skrull? Did the Skrulls secretly infiltrate Fury’s life without him knowing? What if Fury knows what they did and is using this for his own means? Fury isn’t dumb. He knows that playing ignorant will work in his favor. Or, what if she initially did this for the Skrulls and ended up falling in love?
