Invincible season 2 isn’t coming to Amazon Prime Video this month, but fans should anticipate something in the near-future.

Ever since the first teaser for its second season back in January, fans of Invincible have been waiting on anything regarding the show’s return. There have been little updates on Invincible season 2 in the months that followed.

Unfortunately, that has changed that much since. Fans are eager for the show’s return, but Amazon Prime Video has announced its listings for the month of July, and Invincible season 2 is not among the new titles coming to the streaming service this month.

When can fans expect new episodes?

Invincible season 2 updates

The Invincible season 2 teaser might have been cryptic but the one thing we have to go on is the teaser revealed that the show will return late 2023. However, it’s preceded by, “More or less.” That leaves the exact release date up in the air, but the good news is that we are now into the second half of the year, which means “late 2023” is on the horizon.

While all else has been quiet on the season 2 release front, there has been some news about season 2’s next antagonist. Recently, it was announced that one of the main villains in season 2 of Invincible will be Angstrom Levy. Levy ruined Mark’s personal and professional life in the comics and will look to do so in the program as well. If season 2 is anything like the first, then Levy will be even more ruthless in the show.

So far, the show has added scenes that weren’t in the comics. For example, the scene where Mark is fighting Omni-Man didn’t involve the massacre on the train. Scenes like this allow moments to be more violent or emotional than the source material. Normally, fans have issues when things are changed. However, it’s worked better than anyone could have hoped. In some ways, the Amazon Prime Video show has been even better than the comics.

With the creative team taking more liberties, viewers can expect Angstrom Levy to be an unforgettable villain. Unfortunately, it’s going to be a while until he makes his debut on Amazon Prime. Although, updates could come out of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (July 20-23, 2023) as Amazon Prime Video reportedly plans to have “some kind of presence” at the event. Hopefully, it will include a trailer for season 2 and an actual release date.
