The Flash movie gets disappointing Max release update

Fans hoping to watch The Flash movie on Max are sure to be disappointed with the latest release update for the DC Comics movie. 

If you’re one of the millions of DC fans who are waiting for Max to release The Flash movie on its streaming service, we’ve got some disappointing news for you. The wait to watch the latest DC Comics movie is going to continue for another month as the film will not be coming to Max in July.

With July upon us, the full calendar of new releases coming to Max this July has been locked in, and, sadly, The Flash movie is not among the many amazing titles coming to Max in the month ahead.

The movie has been flopping at the box office so many wondered if Warner Bros. Discovery might release it on Max earlier than intended (especially since the movie is being pulled from theaters already). Unfortunately, the studio is still looking to milk as much out of the film as possible before sending it to Max to stream for free which means we’ll have to continue to wait for Barry Allen and company to race onto the streaming platform.

When is The Flash movie coming to HBO Max?

If history repeats itself and Warner Bros. Discovery follows a streaming release timeline similar to the one used for Shazam! Fury of the Gods, there is a strong chance The Flash could arrive on Max on August 22, 2023.

Like The Flash, Shazam! Fury of the Gods struggled at the box office and eventually landed on Max 67 days after its theatrical release. Given the similarities between the two DC movies, it seems likely that Warner Bros. Discovery will stick to the same release timeline which means we’re likely to see The Flash arrive on Max on August 22 which is 67 days out from when the movie opened in theaters on June 16.

Of course, we’ll have to wait for confirmation to know for certain whether DC’s latest original film will indeed be coming in late August. Typically, Max releases the list of new titles for the upcoming month within the final week or so of the current month meaning we should know what movies are coming in August before the end of July.
