12 Marvel characters ranked from bad to pure evil
3. Thanos
It’s impossible to have a list without Thanos. This dude is one of, if not the most diabolic villains in Marvel comics. Unlike some others on the list, he does have some relatable qualities. He’s a father who cares for his daughters and wants the best for the universe. So, like any evildoer with the universe’s best interest at heart, he wipes out half the population. T
he MCU did a fantastic job humanizing Thanos, making him one of the most memorable villains in the MCU. However, in the comics, he collected the Infinity Stones for a different reason.
In The Infinity Gauntlet story arc, Thanos wiped out half of all life in the universe with a snap of his fingers, in an event known as “The Snap.” His intention was to offer Death, a woman he desired a gift by balancing the universe’s population and creating a cosmic equilibrium.
Oh, and who can forget what he did as a father? Yeah, he pretty much tortured his own daughters, Nebula and Gamora, both physically and emotionally.
Take Nebula. Thanos transforms her into a zombie-like state, keeping her alive but in constant pain. He also replaces her body parts with cybernetic enhancements, further dehumanizing her. Thanos often uses Nebula as a pawn and manipulates her for his own purposes.
Gamora is his favorite, yet he subjected her to rigorous, torturous training. He’s not afraid to give her a little psychological and emotional abuse, all in an effort to shape her as a weapon for him to use.
