10. Green Goblin

There’s no mistake about it, Green Goblin looks scary. No, he’s not the most diabolical Marvel character, but the Green Goblin aka Norman Osborn’s reign of terror in New York City solidifies him as one of the most sinister and formidable adversaries. With a sadistic nature and a penchant for inflicting pain and chaos, the Green Goblin has made Spider-Man’s life a living hell.

One of the most chilling and impactful acts committed by the Green Goblin was the torturous and heartbreaking death of Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man’s beloved love interest. In a sadistic plan designed to strike at the heart of the web-slinger, the Green Goblin orchestrated Gwen’s demise, sending shockwaves through the Marvel universe. This act of cruelty not only devastated Spider-Man but also left a lasting impact on readers, forever cementing the Green Goblin’s status as a truly malevolent force.

In the comic book storyline “The Night Gwen Stacy Died,” the Green Goblin’s malevolence reaches its peak as he uses a seemingly unstoppable glider to wreak havoc, resulting in widespread chaos and loss of innocent lives.

What makes the Green Goblin’s villainy chilling is his duality. As Norman Osborn, he’s a powerful figure in the corporate world. As the Green Goblin, he’s a sick, twisted monster of a man. This duality allows him to navigate the upper echelons of society while plotting his sinister schemes behind the scenes. There was also the Goblin King, a version of Osbourne that became the leader of the criminal organization H.A.M.M.E.R.
